BeenVerified has reached millions of customers, and this week we profile the person responsible for finding our next million:
What’s your name?
What’s your job title? and what does that really mean you do here?
Marketing Strategist. It’s pretty vague and generally means that I create advertisements for all of our brands. I manage the ad creation, campaigns, and targeting across all of our social media platforms for all of our brands. This includes anything from Facebook to Pinterest to LinkedIn to dating apps. I also manage TV buying for the BeenVerified brand.
How long have you worked at BV?
A little over a year.
What did you do before BV? How did you end up at BV?
Before BV, I lived in Tel Aviv, Israel for six months on an international program where I worked at a small tech startup creating, writing and managing all of their social media profiles and organic posts. When I moved back home to NYC, I knew I wanted to work in a similar tech startup environment and was very picky about where I applied. I stumbled upon a relevant job position at BV online and was called in for an interview. When I walked out of the interview, I specifically remember feeling the most confident and excited I have ever felt after an interview. I felt super comfortable and inspired after talking with the co-founders, something I hadn’t experienced in any other first-round interviews, and had a good gut feeling about it. I got the acceptance call the next morning… and here I am.
What’s your day-to-day like?
I pretty much live and breathe Facebook. I wake up, check Facebook. Get into work, check Facebook. Get home, check Facebook. And pretty much refresh the ads manager throughout the day — across 3+ brands. Of course there are a lot of intricacies that go into this; I spend the time optimizing each ad, ad set and campaign, either bidding up or down on our CPA targets and turning on or off new ads and campaigns. It’s a constant cycle of refreshing, watching and creating – but I love how different and unreliable it is every single day – keeps it exciting. The other half of my day is creating new advertisements and brainstorming ideas for new target audiences. I do everything from thinking of ad creative and sending them to our design team, or I go into Photoshop and do the designing myself. When I am not working in Facebook I am working with our other social channels such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. and doing the same thing as Facebook. I also manage our television buying process so each day I track where we are going to run and how we did the previous day on each network.
What’s your favorite thing about the BV office? Or culture?
Everything is very collaborative and everyone is ridiculously smart and dedicated to the company. In my past jobs, I never worked with any team besides my own, restricting me from learning anything else about the businesses. At BV, I am working with various teams daily whether its Mobile, SOT, Datalytics, Customer Service, etc. and really learning the backend of how the business works. Every person here wants your input and to help you grow and to get you involved in different sides of the company that you’re interested in. You aren’t restricted to doing just your daily job requirements and it’s awesome.
Tell us something surprising about you that not many people know:
I played lacrosse starting in 3rd grade all the way through senior year of college at Tulane University. I founded & was the President of the Tulane Club Lacrosse team there for all 4 years. I also haven’t picked up my lacrosse stick since graduating.
What are your biggest outside interests and hobbies?
I have a really bad travel bug right now and book trips compulsively. I love traveling with new people and to different places and experiencing the cities through locals and different perspectives. I’ve been working on my travel planning/blog website for over a year now, which I coded myself, and it finally went live just a week ago. I love planning events and trips and researching what to do everywhere. I just got back from Sweden and Russia and I’m currently planning my next trips to Cuba and South America at the end of the year. While I’m not spending my time planning and traveling, I’m listening to music and going to as many live concerts as possible or watching the NYR. Oh and I also love to spin and I usually spend my lunch breaks taking classes (and trying to get other employees to join!).
What is a book, movie, or song that inspires you?
Not a song, but the Goo Goo Dolls in general always put me in a good mood and are played at least once a day during work for me.
What’s your favorite BV lunch that we have on free lunch Wednesdays?
POKEWORKS. Close second is Bon Chon.
