Who qualifies for a coronavirus stimulus check?
To determine who qualifies for a stimulus check, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) looks at a person’s income as the primary factor for eligibility. The full payment is $1,200 and will be distributed to tax filers with a gross income up to $75,000. Those making between $75,000-$99,999 will receive a smaller payment, which decreases by $5 for every $100 over $75,000 that they make. Married couples filing joint returns with a gross income below $150,000 will receive $2,400. An additional $500 will be paid per qualifying child. Seniors who receive Social Security benefits can qualify for a stimulus check as well, even if they haven’t filed a tax return.
